Are you looking for that clean and intimate audio for your upcoming movie? Does every syllable need to be crystal clear for an interview or educational video? Or are you in search of that upfront thick sound for your podcast? We would be glad to help you achieve any of these!
Every production and location is different, which is why we make sure to discuss the need and the objectives of the end product beforehand in order for us to assemble the right equipment for the job. For example, an iconic MKH416 microphone may work wonders in external environments, but have you ever heard what it does to the sound when used in a small room with a lot of reverb? This is just one small example of factors we take into account to make sure the audio translates well on the chosen communication channel(s) of your end product.

What is important for an audio recordist to know before the shooting day?
First of all the location and the type of production. An interview setting or podcast requires a different approach then a feature film for example. Moreover, we always ask about the quantity of actors / interviewees needed to be wired, any difficulties related to time or location management and the amount of cameras and the type of cameras. It is very important for us to know which cameras are being used to make sure the timecode can be configured correctly.
Up to how many hosts / actors can be recorded at the same time?
Our basic package includes a recorder with 8 inputs. This counts for both field recordings and podcasts. For productions that require more than 8 inputs we will have to add extra equipment and this will always be discussed with you beforehand.
Do we need to rent a podcast studio for a qualitative sound?
Not per se. Nowadays an office room with some furniture, proper equipment, technique and post production will be sufficient for good audio. The majority of podcasts are therefore recorded at homes, offices, etc. You can click here for an example of the audio quality at such a location!
